Renee Jones (Sissy) is another actor ashamed of doing a Friday movie

I read Crystal Lake Memories and I was kind of disillusioned afterwards to find out how many actors/actresses that worked on these films really don't give a fvck about the Friday films or the horror genre in general.

Most of them admit that they were just trying to get their foot in the door to become serious actors and oddly enough a lot of them haven't really gone on to do much else in the biz

Renee Jones was asked to do an interview for the book and flat out refused. I can't figure why people would be ashamed or embarrassed by their performance in these movies, when you consider how many well known celebrities have done them.
Why not just own it?? Plus I always liked her character, she had some of the funnier lines in the movie and to think she would rather just sweep it under the carpet and not have anything to do with it is kind of disappointing for fans but whatever....

I just think they should cast people that are not only good actors but also really like the franchise and not people who take it off their resumes later....

She's in "Day's of Our Lives" yet this is the thing she's embarrassed about.......interesting

I can understand people leaving the entertainment industry and being disillusioned with the whole Hollywood thing, but to me it sounds disrespectful to publicly bite the hand that feeds you. Just say something like "I appreciate being given the opportunity to appear in the film, but I have other passions in life now and choose to distance myself." But don't publicly criticize the movies. That's just rude.

Burn, witch! Burn, witch! Burn! Burn! Burn!

Um, did she?

Anyone here mentions Hotel California dies before the first line clears his lips.

I'm pretty sure she did the documentry for Crystal Lake Memories

Yeah it's especially disheartening since this whole series has garnered so many fans over the years. You can even do conventions and make money off of them. They usually charge 20 bucks an autograph, too. So even if they didn't necessarily like the films they could still embrace it to make the fans happy and in doing so they can appreciate it since they make money off of it.

Only people with money say that money doesn't matter.

John Furey from Part 2 does a lot of conventions. There is no hiding the fact that he is there only for the money. He is rude to the fans, puts down the series and is incredibly pushy about selling an autograph or photo. Many of the others who have done conventions are very appreciative to the fans. From Part 6, Tom Fridley and Darcy Demoss were super friendly. I met Thom Mathews, who was also really nice, but I found it disappointing that he asked me if Tommy Jarvis ever returned after Part VI. I can understand him not feeling the need to see any of the other movies if he did not like the genre, but to ask a fan something like this just told me he was in it for a paycheck and did not care about the series.

Probably still butt-hurt over his fate (or lack thereof) in the movie. 

Unappreciative idiots.

I'm sure roles in this movie helped get some of them noticed. The series is still popular as hell and the fandom is big. I hope they never get another dime from anything associated with these movies.

It seems like some of these actors had hoped that these films would cause them to be noticed and "take off" like Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween. Once that didn't happen, they started bashing the films.

That wouldn't bother me at all, at least he's not dissing the series. And besides, its up to him what he chooses to watch and what not.

I hated Jaws, it had too much shark, and dont get me started about King Kong, waaay too much gorilla

In all fairness, do you really expect the stars of these movies to go back and watch their own movies, let alone the ones that followed (that had nothing to do with them)? Also, remember, he was the third actor to play Tommy. He probably (rightfully) figured the part was re-cast down the line.

Remember, we're the fans. They're the actors. Some of them took it for the work, the money and/or exposure. Sorry, but it's a cold reality that many of them likely don't care about the series, even the ones that show up to conventions and smile and make nice. It's called being gracious. They don't have to know all the ins and the outs of the series. That's our job.

^This. To them it's just "a job", WE are the ones that are passionate about these franchises and have watched them a million times. It is perfectly understandable that they would want to move on literally the day after the film stops making money, it's what we all do in our jobs...we work when we're there, we have lives when we're not.

That doesn't mean that they shouldn't like the series or anything, I'm sure a lot of them love it, but there is nothing in an actor's job description that says they must like their film/franchise or know anything about it other that what they filmed.

They should be grateful they got to do any movies at all. If they thought this would help their careers take off, then that's on them. No one made any promises to them that they would be noticed. They took a gamble. No reason to bash a film like a baby.

Plenty of people got noticed without doing any of these movies, so they didn't have to do these movies if they really didn't want to.
