So, the hero of the film turned out to be...

...the sexually harassing obsessed stalker ex-boyfriend/boss who broke into Veronica's apartment without permission, refused to give his key back, and made a scene in the clothing store?

Still a fantastic film though. Loved it in the '80s and it still holds up great.

Yep. And the villain turned out to the be sweet guy who loved Veronica. Life takes some strange twists sometimes.

Can't stop the signal.

Lol yeah. I thought at first that he'd turn out to be the villain that the fly had to battle, but of course that didn't happen.

Somehow, I still couldn't see him as a hero (even though he clearly was) he just seemed like such an A-hole. I felt bad for Seth all throughout the film even when he tried to fuse Veronica and himself , quite sad

I love that Stathis Borans got to be a sot of hero at the end. Usually in horror movies obnoxious jerks like Borans wind up meeting gruesome untimely fates. So having Borans save the day to some degree at the climax was both surprising and inspired.

I liked that twist actually. He seemed like such an @ssh0le and in the end, he really showed how much he loved her, he lost a leg and an arm horrifically just to save the woman he loved. If you were her - I think his sacrifice at the end, outweighs he's previous behavior - wouldn't you be able to forgive him?

He was a creep and a stalker and got what he deserved. Saving the girl was just basic human decency, just like holding a door won't get you laid.

It was meant to be a tragedy, I guess.

You were meant to feel sorry for Seth. And, despite his actions, he was a good man who went crazy through extreme circumstances.

Stathis too, came to Veronica's aid just due to these extreme circumstances. If it wasn't for that, he'd probably still be a bit of a jerk. We see him as a bitter resentful man in the sequel.

Yep that is correct. Even though he’s a total prick who doesn’t know about boundaries, he’d still die for her.
