Why did Seth become so strong after the teletransportation?

I think he should have become weaker like a fly is...

Strength is relative. An average housefly can lift approximately 1.6 times its own weight, so imagine if that housefly were about 6'3 and weighed 180lbs.

I can't imagine a fly lifting anything...

Another question: why did Seth's body become a fly if it was the fusion of a human being and s fly? And a fly is much smaller than a human body...

reply

The movie makes it explicitly clear.

He's not turning into a fly. He's turning into a mutation of a fly and human. Something that's never existed before.

Yes, a fly is smaller than a human. But Brundlefly is human sized.

Let's be bad guys.

Aren't you confusing flies with ants now? Never heard of flies lifting anything.

reply

Jeff Goldblum was 6'4"-6'5" and 185 pounds in this movie.

reply

I always liked to flirt with the idea that his strength and vitality could have been a result of the teleportation process itself and would've happened even if a fly hadn't been in the telepod.

reply

Well, that's what Seth thought at first.

Short Cut, Draw Blood

He borrow some steroids from a baseball player. You musta missed that scene when he went to the yankees training camp.

reply

You have no idea how strong insects are.

reply

As said above, it's relative strength.

So a lot of insects can lift a higher amount proportionate to their body size. Ants being proportionately stronger than any other animals.
