El Coyote and Rainbird

Has anyone read - not seen the movie - Firestarter? Notice similarities between El Coyote and Rainbird.

In the book, Rainbird used the same suffocation technique we see El Coyote use in Firewalker. And somehow their passion for power is similar - for El Coyote it's to acquire the power of the Firewalker and for Rainbird it's to know the power of the Firestarter.

If there was a time when there had been a proper remake of Firestarter, I believe Sonny Landham, who plays El Coyote in Firewalker, would have made a good Rainbird. Don't know if he's past his prime to try a role like that now.
