John Hughes Shermer-verse That Could Have Been

Think about this a second. If all of John Hughes movies that took place in Shermer, IL (60062) were in a shared universe, would we have had EITHER Principal Rooney or Principal Vernon, since both seemed to have been at the school forever. Now, chew on this, Farmer Ted (Sixteen Candles), Brian Johnson (The Breakfast Club), and Gary (Weird Science) (all played by Anthony Michael Hall) would have all been there at the same time. As would have Samantha, Claire, and Andie (all played by Molly Ringwald). Just think of the missed opportunities.

Kevin Smith's View Askewniverse had the same actors playing multiple characters. In fact, Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back had those same actors playing those roles with different wardrobes and facial hair. It's not that far fetched, especially since some movies have actors playing multiple roles even without being a part of a wider universe (think Peter Sellers in Dr Strangelove).

As for Vernon in the Breakfast Club, wasn't he a vice principal?
