Why do the Parking Valets joyride in the car?

I always found that scene to be very stupid, they were supposed to be parking cars and they take off in a fancy car and go joyriding, nobody is left to park cars after they leave and they drive really fast, what happens if some snooty rich guy notices that the parking valets have put several miles on his car because he remembers the cars mileage?

Or what happens if they have an accident while joyriding and screw up the car? That was stupid for them to do, not to mention they could get pulled over and explain to the police that they were joyriding on the job and get arrested, not good, unless the police join them.

They're slackers, they're crazy, probably high, and its a comedy so who cares how 'stupid' it is? Thats one of comedy's major selling points

I think it's possibly the funniest part of the film when you see the car driving out the car park in the background and the guy shouting 'go, go, go!'. Yeah it is stupid but I wouldn't look too much into it, this movie isn't that realistic anyway.

The world is your lobster.

If they were worried about consequences and making proper life choices, would they be thirty years old and parking cars for a living?

Yet another reason - the owners were teenage twats. If anything happened to the car, they knew the kids would be blamed. I think Ferris even tipped him a $1 or $5 bill - really showed how clueless they were.

They took Ferris' advice... the car was so choice.

Hitler! C'mon, I'll buy you a glass of lemonade.
