Why does Sloan have an accent when she's talking to Rooney?

When they are standing outside of the school as she's being picked up, she gets this uncharacteristic British-sounding accent. Am I the only one who hears this and that it bugs the crap out of?

I thought the same thing when she says "I want to thank you for your warmth and compassion" she sounds like she's Aussie like me!

Its the same accent she has in the rest of the film she's just playing up the theatrics in that particular scene so its more pronounced. If you listen carefully she has an accent i the rest of the film too.
