Do you remember the first time you watched FBDO?

I was around ten years old in 1988 and I remember a friend of mine having the VHS that he brought to my house and we popped it in and didn't say a damn word throughout the movie like we normally did with flicks. I had never seen a movie that the character stopped to talk to me. I wanted to be Ferris so bad. Even at the age of ten I knew how important popularity was and I wanted that Ferrari 250 GT.

I sure do! In my local theater, thirty years ago tonight, just after finishing high school. To celebrate its anniversary, we just watched it with our young teen son, who loved it :)

July, 1986. I was in Oklahoma visiting my cousin and we went to the movie theater with his friends for his birthday and we watched it. Every summer and spring break afterward when he visited me, he wanted to watch it since I had a copy on VHS.

I saw it in June '86 with my then girlfriend at the Vancouver Centre Cinemas. We both thoroughly enjoyed it, and knew we were seeing an instant classic. When we'd go to a movie, we'd get up to leave when the credits started rolling. We saw that there was still stuff happening, so we sat back down and watched. The "You're still here?" bit got one of the hugest laughs of the whole movie.

I'm so old that I saw it in the theater in its first run.

I (52) saw this movie today for the first time, with my 15 year old son. Both my son and me thought the movie was alright, but why it is such a classic seems unclear.

I was in kindergarten in 93. I saw it on VHS with my older sister.

I wasn't lucky enough to see this in the theater, but I have seen it countless times over the years. Anyway, the first time I saw it, I had invited friends over one evening during high school, and one of them brought a VHS copy of the movie. I was sitting on the couch; some friends sat next me, others on the floor between the couch and TV, including one friend in particular, who had seen the movie already and was just waiting for the scene with the Ferrari, knowing how I would probably react. When the car went backwards through the glass, he turned around to see me with my mouth open, incredulous that that had happened to such a beautiful car. I'll probably never forget that.
