Complot theories

Hello, The life of dissidents can easily lead to paranoia. For instance, the main actor Pannach died at the age of 50, due to cancer. In 1976 Pannach had been imprisoned by the Stasi (the secret intelligenge agency of the former DDR). A year after his death (1998), the German magazine Der Spiegel suggested that during his imprisonment Pannach had been systematically exposed to x-ray radiation in order to stimulate the later occurrence of cancer. We can safely assume that this is nonsense. However, ghost stories like this undermine the credibility of the real hardship that tormented the dissidents.
