This is a terrible thing to say...but the rapist was good-looking

If he hadn't already raped her and wasn't so menacing, they could have made a cute couple. Um, yeah. Maybe he was too good-looking and not menacing enough for the part?

I think he was perfectly cast. He played this part note perfect!

I agree.

Russo was great in this role -- played the menacing, sleazy, and sadistic rapist to a tee.

He, too, is good-looking.

Rapists come in all stripes and flavors -- the stereotype of ugly = bad and attractive = good is way off.

Remember, he had a wife and a little girl at home. They couldn't have a guy who was a fat pig with warts play him because it wouldn't be believable that he'd have a wife and daughter (what woman would pick him is what you'd think). The blonde girls like the blond guys - he wasn't her type.

He was kind of like a young Mickey Rourke. This movie might even have been offered to him. I saw this for Russo, wanted to like him, but he was a total scumbag. Which means he did everything right, I guess.

You're right, but it's also a matter of the casting director wanting someone who looks fair or better to appear on the screen.

Hahha so true! Don't feel bad because I'm sure that's what they intended. I'm sitting here thinking that as I watch but I find the most beautiful the evil, the more horrific it is. Also, I'm sure in this case more believable. I wouldn't be nearly as intrigued if he were ugly.
He looks a little like James Dean, too! but now as I read the other comments, thinking about it, I guess Mickey Rourke too, who was a looker in those days.
Poor, poor Farrah! Run! Well, I can guess what'll happen but I'll just have to see... ;)

I find that almost disturbing; a rapist doesn't look like anything special. His acting was menacing, and his looks helped him get close to his victims.

He was a hot rapist.

No actually his forehead dominated his face, he was creepy looking and gross.yuck

reply

No, his forehead is only relevant to teenagers and millennials who examine foreheads on imdb and mock certain actors if the forehead is 1/4" different than you think it should be, yet the mocking is always used on a selective-basis to compound your immaturity
