I have been searching for this movie for YEARS online, under the mistake that the title was "The Exterminators" I cannot believe i finally found it! This was one of the first movies i remember seeing in the theater and it will always be a fav of mine. Does anyone have any idea where i can get this on vhs or dvd???

reply

I used to love this movie as a kid. My and 6 other cousins used to watch it all the time. Good times.

Very enjoyable but sadly craptastic film. What boy didn't want to be a Mandroid after seeing this? Gotta love Roy Dotrice!! Denise Crosby sickens me though.

reply

So have I! And today is the day I finally found it. I'm excited to the point of it being embarrassing.

It happened the same to me. This is one of the first movies I remember watching in a cinema. I could saw the movie on youtube.

Now I´m complete!!! ha ha haaaaaa

What's not to like? Charles Band and his Empire Pictures was a staple of the video shop in the mid-80s and his output introduced me to quirky low-budget sci-fi/horror/fantasy. I still have great affection for stuff like Metalstorm, Spacehunter, Ragewar, Swordkill, Ghoulies, Trancers and House.

Metalstorm is CLASSIC, and I actually went to see Ghoulies in the theatres, hahaha. And yeah, these movies exactly make me think of endlessly staring at the shelves of my local video rental place circa '84 - '85, so good on you for that apt description.

However, I have to give my vote to MegaForce as the best B movie of the 80's.

P.S. - I was trying to think of this movie that was similar to Metalstorm from the same time-period, but couldn't come up with the title for the life of me. I saw your list, had to check one of the titles, and lo-and-behold there it was - Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone. Hahahaha, thanks.

Would've been a lot better if the half man/half robot was played by Bruce Campbell.

Agreed. This movie is a whole lot of choice cheesy 80's fun.
