Dee Wallace Stone is a great actress who already had a good history in horror movies. I loved her in Critters. For the matriarch of the family she did well in the fight against the Critters. Second only to Brad.

She killed two of them with the shotgun, and she swatted one off Jay's shoulder when he was attacked on during the scene where they're locked out of the house.

She's a Mom who kicks ass when her family is threatened. I'd have liked her to have returned for Critters 2 with Brad to visit the Grandmother.
