Shows Sissy Spacek is a mutch better actress than Diane Keaton

Sissy seams to be amazing in anything. Diane Keaton praised as an actress as well was just bad in my opinion, actually I don't think she's any good in Annie Hall either, she was far too overrated in the 70s and 80s. This film I think just shows that she is not even close in the same acting level as Sissy Spacek.

Jessica Lange isn't too shabby either. Not a Keaton fan, she's as neurotic as Woody Allen - good pair of nebbish nerds.

Disagree with you both. Keaton's an amazing actress, with a forty three year film career to prove it, with Oscar nominations in the seventies, eighties, nineties and the two thousands.

That said, playing a southerner up against Lange and Spacek would have been a challenge even for Streep, especially in the uneventful role of Lenny. I mean basing a character on a shrunken ovary isn't a lot to go on.

Furthermore, Sam Shepard was introduced to Keaton on the film and found Keaton to be a women of substance and talent, electing to work with her again three additional times since the making of Crimes.

Yeah and Keaton's accent was so fake and irritating. She ruined this for me.

She ruined this for me.

Agreed. The film would have been much better if someone other than Keaton had been cast. She annoyed me throughout the movie and ruined it for me too.

Spacek was marvelous here and beautiful too.

Very good. But brick not hit back!

I think Keaton is a good actress but she isn't that good at playing Southern women like Lange and Spacek.

If Diane annoyed you in this film SHE DID HER JOB. She was the annoying sister we all have
I'm assuming you didn't see "Looking For Mister Goodbar". She is mesmerizing in it.
