The DVD's been out of print for some time, so that's one of the reasons why it's so expensive.
There is an Australian DVD you could get. In widescreen too.

I got my copy at Virgin Records years ago. It was on a double bill, with the other movie being "The Attic," a 1980 movie starring Ray Milland. That's a good if ultimately quite depressing film.
Anyway, I think I paid maybe $25.00 for it. Good luck in your search.
