Kreepy Klaus

The movie sucked, but if I looked out my window and saw him looking in, rapping that steel ball with his knife, I'd fall over dead from a heart attack. He should have made lots more, he had excellent creep appeal.

Oh, he made more, alright - his obituary says that he appeared in over 200 films. Pretty impressive.

If you have not seen Werner Herzog's movie called "Mein Liebster Feind," you MUST seek it out. Herzog was a director who literally wanted to kill Kinski on a daily basis throughout their time working together. I recommend it highly. Here is an excerpt:

Thanks for the info, will definitely look for Mein Liebster Feind, hopefully Netflix will provide. I love background friction filled relationships in the making of movies. Hoping this one will be as fun for me as Bette Davis and Joan Crawford!

There is an excellent book called Bette and Joan; there is more to the title, but it escapes me at the moment. It is so completely worth the read. Joan was a force to be reckoned with, but Bette was secure with her superiority as far as their acting went. (Joan also slept with just about every schlong out there, including Rock Hudson.) Lots of behind the scenes in Baby Jane. They both deliberately hurt each other physically during the filming. Their hatred was awesome.
