No wonder Rudy Giuliani cleaned up 42nd St.
Damn this is a disturbing film.Just finished it and I am feeling faint.I cant say I would recommend this film to anyone.Don't get me wrong,I grew up on the gore classics.Saw DAWN OF THE DEAD in the theater in 1978 when I was 11 years old and have been a devotee since.I also enjoyed THE MANSON FAMILY by Jim Van Beeber. But the level of violence and truly disturbing images especially in the last 5 minutes of COMBAT SHOCK is too much for me.It's very obvious that Buddy Giovinazzo is a very talented filmmaker.I found much of the action scenes and editing incredible. The acting really wasn't that bad either. However,as has already been said many times, the level of pessimism in this film is unrelenting.I want to listen to the audio commentary by the director, but that means I have to watch the movie again.Whew!! I don't know, now I'm contemplating if I should sell the DVD.But then someone else will see this movie.Maybe I will just toss it in the trash.
