The baby brings the movie down a lot

The movie has such a gritty, raw and realistic feel to it and because of the deformed baby looking so fake, it really sticks out like a sore thumb. I heard that the baby was made for 140 dollars and I'm not surprised. It's so poorly made that they should have just left it out of the film. I mean in Eraserhead, the baby was also deformed but it was at least believable because it was a real cow fetus. That movie was also low budget, so I bet David Lynch knew a puppet would just be corny looking. Here, the baby looks like Miss Piggy's inbred offspring. It just looks like a really ugly muppet.

apparently the screen tests they did with the babey in combat shock was shot in black and white and looked ok in that format but in coler not so much i assume to the horror of the director lol

but also apparently the original concept that was ditched was most of the shots inside the apartment was mostly going to be from the baby POV and the baby was never going to be shown

you will have to forgive the lack of full stops lack of proper spelling im dyslexic but not stupid

I’m glad someone here made a connection between Henry’s baby in Eraserhead and the one in this film.
