This movie is so different than the original.

Don't get me wrong I like both films, as I think there are both pretty good in their own genres however I was very surprised when I saw the Hustler as I thought that TCOM was so different in its genre.
The Hustler is a very dark and powerful film while TCOM is funny to watch and entertaining.
Also the image obviously... Black and white / Color
Can anybody think about another sequel which is that different from the original?

There was a 25 year gap between The Hustler and The Color of Money, so of course there was going to be a huge difference between the both of them. Although, I bet if Scorsese decided to make something much closer to the original (even shoot it in B&W), I don't think the long gap would've matter. :)

As for another sequel that was noticeably different to the original, I would have to say Psycho 2.

I think it's only appropriate that the two movies were extremely different not only because there's a 25yr gap, but also because Eddie's life was so completely different. In the first one he was a young out of control alcoholic in a reckless relationship which led the death. His life was much more stable and controlled in this one.
