If they do release the original cut, they should really clean up the PQ of the existing cut while they're at it. I just watched the blu-ray that came with Assassins and The Specialist and was shocked at how rough it looks. I mean, the movie looks less like a big hollywood release and more like some ultra low budget shoestring slasher film, which is made all the more shocking in that the trailer, in spite of being SD, looks a lot nicer than the HD quality of the movie itself.

There are so many action films they need to do this with. What's so complicated about taking a workprint and cleaning up the PQ and adding in the official soundtrack? Action fans would gobble up uncut editions of films like Cobra, Hard Target, and The Crow. I know I would. Do the studios think there aren't enough fans of those films to justify cleaning up the workprints?
