Other Great Films Told Over A Day

Love this film, I have it on dvd but it was just on ITV today, I should have been studying for uni exams but oh well..

Anyhoo, what are your other favourite films that take place over a day/less than a day?

Mine:

The Breakfast Club

reply

The Breakfast Club
Clerks.
Clerks 2
Mallrats
Slacker
Dazed and Confused
Rat Race (not really good, but kinda funny)
Reservoir Dogs
Do the Right Thing
Four Rooms (just a little entertaining at the second half)
Waiting...

That's all i can think of right now, but i'm sure there are plenty more

reply

I'm fairly certain all the flashback scenes will disqualify Reservoir Dogs. I mean, you wouldn't say that The Usual Suspects takes place over a day, would you?

reply

oh, yeah, i guess you're right.

reply

American Graffiti

reply

that was a good one, i always considered dazed and confused a remake of american graffiti.

reply

After Hours (1985)
Running scared (I think-2006)
No way out (1987)

reply

Twelve Angry Men
Run Lola Run
From Dusk til Dawn

reply

High Noon
Isn't the Informer one, too?

reply

12 Angry Men. Great shout. Scanning over some of my DVD's...

Do The Right Thing
Duel
La Haine
Shaun of the Dead

I can't remember if Memento takes place in one day but if it is it should be up there!

reply

I think Memento is more than one day, excellent film

reply

I just LOVE films set over one day, or in one room... so long as it's not forced and crappy just to fit the concept.

Most slasher movies, if you don't count the opening obligatory here's-what-pissed-the-killer-off-20-years-ago flashback.

reply

Oh yeah! What about "Die Hard" (and any of its sequels)?

reply

Hitchcock's "Rope".
