Doesn't it just send you back?

I find it really comforting. To me it feels like an old friend.

I'm the same. I've loved this film since childhood. It seems to exist in a lost world.

I've not seen this film in a longtime. Popped into my head when I was on the Reginald Perrin board.

I'll need to get a copy and see how it is. I remember it being great way back when. Hopefully it'll still retain some charm for me.

True it takes me back to my childhood too! A great British masterpiece of a film ... one of the very best films ever!

Yes to a time of a Great Britain..

I know what the OP is talking about. But is this as good as a fish called wanda you think? I see AFCW is rated higher on imdb.

reply

Totaly agreed. It sure takes me back to "the day2 too. The best thing about it is too, it still seems a real modern film but retains a 1980s style still as well.

I started senior school the year it was made and the scenes at the beginning remind me of the school i went to (Kaskenmoor in Oldham, no longer existing, got knocked down and replaced by a new one, mind you a lot of it was falling down already when i went)

There are some scenes that really look like the same school, all about the camera angles, but it does resemble it.

and so do a lot of the hairstyles and fashions lol

i find it funny but not comforting. It seems to me almost tragic as we watch his life unravel as he becomes more and more desperate to achieve his objective and makes more and more disastrous choices.
