500 page book filmed in 70mm stereo at only 98 minutes? Bloody unlikely!


You can bet this film was MUCH longer than 98 minutes before it was cut way down.
rule of thumb is that scripts run a page per minute of film. not to suggest a 500 min film, but cutting out 400 pages of story-seems a bit unlikely, especially when they went to the trouble to film it in grandiose 70mm widescreen 4 track stereo;

To bad Warner won't pony up with the extra footage-must have been at LEAST a 2 hour film.
I know this because before DVD, there was Laserdisc, which liked to show things widescreen and with bonus footage-unlike VHS. Warners had announced a multiple disc extended Special edition box set of the film, but it never came to be....
