Sir Simon is a true classic

Sir John Gielgud as Sir Simon De Canterville was hilarious. I loved the way he'd terrorise people who ventured into the castle.
As he quoted "I've never been so grossly insulted! I've frightened thousands of people into fits of hysterics merely by grinning at them! Poor old Madame Lathruniac was confined to her bed for 6 weeks from an attack of brain fever!... when she awoke early one morning and saw me seated in the armchair by the fire..."

Then at Jennifer's bequest he turned his attention to Lucy and it was awesome the way he was scaring her. The haggard old woman in her reflection when putting on her make up.
Then at the dinner table his head appears on the plater in front of Harry and grins and laughs when shaking up the table and when the relatives flee Sir Simon remarks, "Wait...what about desert!?" and billows up trifle and cake into their faces. Haha I just love that.

I would have to say the best one was with Jennifer when she introduced Paul to Sir Simon at the grave yard. Sir Simon extended his hand out to shake Paul's but the boy moved back in fear, prompting Sir Simon to go...very subtly first.
"Boo.....Boohoohoohoohoohoohoohoohoo!"

I just love this movie and the way old Mrs. Umney is always getting gagged and tied up somewhere lol
