I have the original tape of that movie and both on the box and at the end of the film you can see clearly it was made in 1991, why IMDB said it was in 1986? Kiefer was really good in this movie... Keanu as usual, SUCKED!!

I'm not sure why it says that but I will guarentee it was definately made before 1991. I graduated high school in 1990 and saw it SEVERAL years before that on television. I just went and got my DVD copy and it say 1993 so it is probably the copyright year of the distrubution company.

I lived in the area when it was shot and knew a couple of girls who were extras in this TV movie- we were in High School together. It was shot in 1986.

It was a made for TV movie. Perhaps it was released on video in 1991?

The DVD I just watcched of the movie, the DVD and the box show copyright of 1993. This is the DVD formatted for worldwide use. The movie was filmed in 1986, and the events in the movie actually happened in texas in 1985. the real gang was name the Legion of Doom. None of the actual names and locations were used, because when the gang was incarcerated none of them could have any dealing with a movie, book or other telling of the tale. This was an application of what they call the Son of Sam law, which made it illegal for someone convicted of a crime from profiting from it.

I saw this summer 1986 and remember it well. Copyright dates aside...good gosh, I can't believe people look at a movie and can't tell if it's from the mid-'80s or the early '90s.

This was made in 1986. the videotape was first released in 1991. I know this because My Uncle was in the film.

I was a student at aptos high when this was filmed in the summer of '86.Trust me. This was filmed in '86 and not 1991.

I have several friends that are in this film. I recognize quite a few faces since i went to school with them a few years.

One of the scenes was filmed two doors down from our house in seacliff. I watched a guy come out of a house and that was the cut. Now i know it was keanu.

After the scene was over he flipped somebody off and that is one of the main things i remember from that night apart from how friggen bright those lights were.

Trust me when i say that this was filmed in 86. I could have been in it but ended up in the "other film" that was also filmed in our area at the time (Lost Boys).
