$60 Per Week
Hard to believe that back then this was making a good living.
shareThis was the depression. It was equivalent to at least $1000 a week. And remember, they weren't spending any money on cable, internet, cellphones, video games, etc.

You have to take inflation into account, and the cost of living was lower then. $60 in 1937 would be the equivalent of $946 today. In 76 years or so (c. 2090) $946 could very well be chump change by future standards.
.
The average salary per week in 1937 was $32.
