The two leads have such great chemistry...

you could almost feel the love. Even though their love and friendship is innocent enough, the slight kindling of romance in it almost makes it a bit perverse (considering that the actors were just probably starting puberty). But all in all, the "romance" wasn't overdone. It was just enough to tug at heartstrings for those hopeless romantics out there.

There are so many great messages in this movie, most of which I could connect with, it's now one of my favorite 80's movies. I only wish I'd seen this movie sooner!
