Did this movie age well?

I loved this movie as a kid but it has been like 23-25 years since I watched it.

I still love watching ET and Princess Bride

Some movies just don't age well like Hook

It's not really fair for me to answer because I've only seen clips and excerpts since I saw it in theaters, but I still adore this movie It was definitely a cut above, and it dealt with some really serious topics in a sensitive way. Fred Savage digging up his army men in the rain still kills me.

It's one of those films I watched several times on home video in the 80s/early 90s but have never even thought about since. It was a sweet and likeable film, that's for sure, and I'm sure it's still at least watchable today, unlike so many 80s movies.

I showed it to my kids about 10yrs ago and they loved it as much as I did. I'm watching it again and enjoying it. So not sure what you mean by aging well.

Hook sucked from the moment it was released. There was nothing good to “age.”

He probably saw it when he was a kid and thought tt was thrilling at the time but looks with a more mature gaze now. There were a lot of live action Disney films I loved when I was under 10 but couldn't stomach now. I was 21 when I first saw Hook so it has always seemed a bad film to me.

I know I'm 7 years too late to reply, but we watched it on the weekend with kids aged 6 and 9 and they enjoyed it. They were curious to see the next scene and the next, and what will happen. This film has everything and is not just about a boy who could fly but has the main family living without their dad and shows how the sister has become the role of the parent to her little brother and is also helping Eric, and how she handles everything somehow. Good movie.
