Question about the ending scene.. *Spoilers, duh*

So at the climax of the movie, Jeff goes to Dorothy's apartment to find the man in the yellow suit, along with Dorothy's husband.. both dead.

So, what exactly went down in the apartment? Did Frank kill them both? What was his motive? And what was the point of doing it in the apartment?

Frank was criminally insane... he probably perceived the man in the yellow suit to be a threat to his actions. He had performed a lobotomy on the man and shot Dorothy's husband because Dorothy had disobeyed his 'orders' by becoming involved with Jeffrey and providing him with details about what Frank has done to her husband and son.

I'm curious, was the man in the yellow suit in league with Frank? I feel like I missed the significance of the part when Frank talks about the drug deal.

Oh, I love a picnic. Acres and acres of sand and all of it in your food.

Yes and he had not not been lobotomized. He was shot in the head and may have been dead. There have been cases where head shot kills have stood straight even some continue to do what they were doing if muscle memory was involved- like rowing a boat. There's a scene where this happens in "Inside (2007) aka
"À l'intérieur"
