The blind man

What is the function of the blind man who knows how many fingers Jeffrey puts up?

reply

It's just a quirky character home boy. Nothing deep or symbolic.

I feel the scene in which he tells Jeffrey how many fingers he's showing represents Jeffrey's naivety, you can tell the man with sight behind him is giving him the answers but Jeffrey who is still young and curious perceives it as magical. The strangest, most beautiful mysteries in the world can be explained.

Boy you be tripping its just a funny little diddy is what I be sayin'! Y'all picking up what I'm laying down?

See my interpretation is he knows exactly how the blind man is doing it, but Jeffrey is just being nice, it shows he has a good heart. I also don't think it's meaningless that the blind man is black, and well, this was the 1950's..

The reason I think Jeffrey knows how he does it is because Jeffrey loves mysteries, he says so later in the diner with Sandy. He's a cunning kid, he comes up with the plan to bug-spray the apartment to get in there.

I give him enough credit to know how the blind man plays the game.

GD, man! Why do people think this movie is set in the 50's? It's set in 'modern day'. And it has cars from the 70's in it! This is the third reference to that I've seen on this board.

Maybe people should stick to easy to understand movies, if it's that difficult.

Para tiempo means nada nunca.

Things aren't always what they appear, I suppose.
