To me this is one of the most underrated movies. I will never understand why it was not at least nominated for an award. Excellent acting, excellent story, excellent cinematography. What more does it take? It's one of the few pics I can (and do!) watch over and over again. Lesbian subtext: absolutely obvious!

I never understood why the film wasn't as large in success as it should have been. It's a female take on the whole "good guy searches down bad guy" type of film, and it's absolutely remarkable, to say the least. Clever writing, brilliant acting, stylish production values. I only wish both leads were at least nominated for their roles.

One of the reasons why the film didn't do too well is that, besides the literally cop-out ending, it didn't get much coverage in magazines.
shareYou may want to check out another Debra Winger film called "Mike's Murder", equally as good as this one...and noone ever plays it! I watch Black Widow over again, too, whenever I catch it on the schedule. It is so good, I enjoy it every time.
