Biggles Soundtrack

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the soudtrack (in whole or in part)for this film? I know it's corny to some, but I grew up with the movie, and thus I enjoy it. I'm pretty sure that the soundtrack was only released in Europe and originally on LP, but if part of it was released along with the film on DVD, I'd be very interested to hear about it. please e-mail me:

I am not sure as to where you can get the soundtrack for this film but I remember that Jon Anderson sang one or two of the songs that were on the soundtrack which to me was the one thing that attracted me to the film. I grew up reading the Biggles books as a kid and felt the film was a real let down, but please don't let me persaude you otherwise. So, I am looking for the soundtrack too and maybe websites of Jon Anderson fans may have a lead. Let me know if you strike lucky: Kev

The complete theme song is on the DVD.

The 'Von Stalhein taking off' soundtrack sequence is 'knocking at your back door' by Deep Purple.

But that 'rock video' on the DVD. Come on! I had to turn it off! I didn't know whether to laugh or cry!

There is the complete theme song on the DVD.

Well I can confirm that there was indeed a soundtrack album and it was on LP - I used to have it and will have to check the loft to see if I still do... Yep, Jon Anderson was the vocalist on "do you wanna be a hero", and as well as Deep Purple, there was a Motley Crue track as well.... It was deleted a loooong time ago, so probably your only chance of getting it is to find someone selling a copy somewhere.

I met Neil Dickson briefly when Mirrorsoft were releasing the game of the film on the C-64, he was promoting it - I remember the stand being very quiet, but I loved the film so it was great to go and speak to him - was a very nice guy from what I remember... gave me a carrier bag of goodies *lol*

I remember a cassette release in a turtles near my house as a kid. So I know there was an official sound track. I doubt that it ever made it to CD. I have the American release of the DVD, but I have yet to see a full version of the song "Do you want to be a hero?" on it. Mabey I'll go right now and check. As goofy as it is, that song is one of the reasons I like the movie (and the "choc's away" song too). ^_^

The "Chocks Away" song on the link up above sounds different from the one in the film. D'you know if there is two different versions of it?

Yay, an mp3 of Do You Wanna Be A Hero! Lol, its bad I know, but I enjoy it anyway.

It rose into space.
It's wings spread wide.

I went to a convention a couple of years ago and found a bootleg soundtrack on CD, which I picked up. Is it perfect? Not by a longshot, but it's the closest I've ever come to enjoying the music.

Nice one, thanks! :)

This song popped back into my head tonight.

Jesus Christ.......

The name of the group preforming biggles soundtrack is: "John Deacon & The Immortals" http://www.queencollector.com/Discograhy/johndisc.htm

Im sure there is no problem ordering this in a bigger, wellsorted recordstore. Wether or not the soundtrack is on the DVD-relerase I don't know, if you are lucky, it is...

The Immortals (band members: John Deacon from Queen, Lenny Zakatek from The Alan Parsons Project and Robert Ahwai) only did one song for this album: 'No Turning Back', which was a single and did not chart. It's quite OK (for an 80's song), but the video was unintentionally hilarious. Jon Anderson recorded both 'Do You Want To Be A Hero' and 'Chocks Away'. Pretty poor songs if you ask me. Deep Purple's 'Knocking At Your Back Door' is good, but it was previously released on their 1984 "Perfect Strangers" album. I believe there is one more song ('Big Hot Blues') and I think that one was performed by an unknown artist. The other music is by a band called Stanislas and that's just incredibly awful.

I have the Album and the 12" extended version of 'No turning Back' also the 7". I was soundtrack obsessive at the time and worked in cinema's and collected every soundtrack I could for every film I worked with. This film 'died a death' when it was shown, hardly anyone came to see it. Enjoyed some of the songs tho. Not a brilliant film.

This has got to be one of the most inadequate soundtrack for a movie in history. Not that it was good or bad, but i'm sure the director was not pleased with it. This movie has great special effects, and is visually very stunning. This is one of the examples where sound can really affect a film. If it were ever re-done, with an epic sound, i'm sure this mvie would have a better ranking.

I love this soundtrack and I am an OST collector so believe me its not a crap soundtrack. I guess OP said it with with growing up with the film. I remember the Blue Peter episode thats on the DVD. I have been searching for the OST for as long as the film is out and finally tracked it down. The version I have is MP3 and sounds like its been copied from an LP but damn its cool. Do You Want To Be A Hero is the cheesiest 80s song ever, and all the better for it. The whole OST is so 80s its mad. Guess you had to be there

A UK LP sold for over £20 on ebay a few days ago-really needs a nice remastered cd release.
