I'M HOPING FOR A 25TH ANN WIDESCREEN DVD AND BLU-RAY EDITION

The last time this movie was on DVD in Jan 28,2003 it was in fullscreen.If you haven't looked this movie up on Amazon.com somebody is selling it for like $109.99 new.I'm definitely not buying this movie for that price.Amazon.com has it for instant video purchase for $9.99 but I'm more interested in having a personal copy that I can play on my TV.I'm sure that when this movie comes out on Blu-ray they will probably release it on DVD as well.This movie came out in April 11,1986 so a 25th anniversary edition could hit this year and it just might be in WIDESCREEN.I'm very hopeful because I doubt that they would put a major movie in fullscreen on Blu-ray.

I sure hope they bring it out for a 25th anniversary...in ANY format as far as I am concerned.

It's getting a dvd-r release on July 3 (from Sony). I wonder if it'll finally be widescreen?

The DVD-R is widescreen but doesn't look too great. I guess it's better than nothing, but it would have looked nice on Blu-Ray.

IF you have DirecTv, it is showing on Sony Movie Channel.
