The Un-Edited Version?

Does anyone know if the original version that first aired 25 years ago is still available? Seems like the only version available now has been heavily edited. There were a couple of major plot points taken out, and those scenes don't make a lot of sense without them.

For example, when Barnaby first captured Jack, he threatened to have his henchmen feed Mary to his trolls unless Jack wrote a letter confessing to the cookie theft and breaking up with Mary. There was also a deleted scene with an awkward discussion between Barnaby and Mother Hubbard after Lisa's "matchmaker" prank earlier (long story).

Anyway, if anyone knows what I'm talking about and has seen the full version, can you help me out?

I doubt it's still available. There have been a few comments on this page about how many stages of editing this film went through in the years. But I hear ya! I am so glad I have the original VHS that mom used to tape it in the 80's. I know every scene you are describing, and I would be heartbroken if I bought the video recently, just to find out it's completely different from what we knew as kids. Good luck! If I ever decide to undergo making some dvd copies of it, I'll be sure to let you know on here. I'm sure it would be a low grade dvd, and my version has the 80's commercials, (which i particularly like..lol)but regardless.
