I agree, this film does have certain beauty to it. It's a love story about two teens, set against a dark, cruel landscape that overpowers them .

No stretch. It was one of the most beautiful films ever made imho.

It was great. Just saw it today. I can't believe I've never even hear of this one 'til yesterday. I learned of it watching the Live to Tell video on youtube and immediately had to see it.

I agree whole heartedly 100%!!!

I completely agree.

I saw this film months ago and still think about it every now and then. Beautifully made. Sometimes all the pieces of a film - the writing, the acting, the set - just flow together so well, making for a special kind of viewing experience. I found it very affecting.

It is a beautiful film. I first stumbled across it in the middle of the night, and it never loses that dream-like quality.

I just saw this film today and I agree. It is beautiful in it's own way, but it would be difficult to describe how to somebody if they have never seen it.

One thing that I think really helped make the movie that way for me was the score, which is also the basis sound for the song "Live To Tell" by Madonna. I just thought that was used perfectly throughout the film, and helped make it more atmospheric at times. I love it when music can do that in movies. It's a shame there aren't many movies out there still made like this today.

I agree with the OP completely. It's beautifully shot, and drifts along like a raft on a quiet river, in a dream. That's what makes the ending so brutal.
