How old is Brad Jr supposed to be?

How old is Brad Jr supposed to be?
20?

reply

I don't think they ever actually say, but I always kind of thought he was around 19 or 20.

reply

thanks
he does say "you're only 16?" to the girl, so he must be a few years older than her.

reply

When Him and Terry go into the bar Sr says somethin like "Doesn't he look 23". He may of been joking saying he wasn't legal yet.

reply

I thought he said " she's 23 ", about terri, after she got asked for I.D, but really she was 16.

I thought Brad might have been about 18, but i think his brother was 18 at the time this happened, so maybe brad was around 19 or 20

reply

Brad was 19 and Terri was 15 in real life. I was just reading an article about this. It actually happened less than a half hour from my house. It's so werid I always knew about the story but never saw the movie until now. It's crazy.

Wow, keithjfro, that's amazing that you found him three states over!!!

He was listed as being 50 in 2008, Wiki says he was 20 in 1977, named Bruce Johnston Jr., from PA, and still selling dope! As with Sammy "The Snitch" Gravano, the Feds sure give protection to some fine, fine citizens.

For everyone else who hasn't seen it, I'll copy it below before they delete that page from the internet:

(It is a police blotter article from the Kingsport Times-News in Kingsport, TN.)

• Bruce Johnston Jr., 50, Atglen, Pa., possession of over one-half gram of methamphetamine for resale.

From a 2004 Kennett, PA newspaper:
Bruce Johnston Jr., a junior member of the infamous Johnston Brothers gang in the 1970s, was back in court last week for a parole violation.

Johnston, 43, of Peach Bottom, York County, said little when he appeared in shackles before Common Pleas Court Judge Juan Sanchez in West Chester on April 29. He is currently serving a one- to two-year sentence in state prison for a 2003 Lancaster County theft.

Yes, probably 19, 20, or 21, not in college and probably hadn't finished high school, either.

My guess is because he is shocked that the girl is "only 16", and because he freely smokes and drinks beer around the house with his Mom and Dad present.

In real life, the girl was already murdered when she was 15. This is a common ploy to make movies less indecent. In A Clockwork Orange, the girls from the record store who Alec has sex with were young teens. In the Anthony Burgess book, they were little kids.

reply

In the book they were ten, and Alex was fifteen. Neither looked those ages in the movie.
