John Candy

I was the location manager for "Armed and Dangerous" and I would like to tell a story about John. We were filming at the mansion in Bel Air and two blond Swedish girls came to the set to see what we were doing. I told them we were doing a movie with John Candy, they said "he likes Sweds can we take his picture?" They went home to get their camera and I asked John if he would take a picture with two Swedish blond girls. He had a big smile on his face. When they returned I pointed them out, he said come with me. John walked up to the girls they were so happy to see him. He said "Do you want to take my picture? before they could answer he grabed the camera from her hands. They had this shocked look on their faces, he turned around handed me the camera walked up to the girls put his arms around them and said "Larry take our picture" The girls were so happy. John was such a wonderful man he loved people and he loved to make us laugh. He is missed.

That's a great story. Although I have never met him he always seemed like a very nice and welcoming person. I've heard many stories about how he would never turn down a fan for autographs or pictures. One of the funniest and kindest people around, I miss him a lot.

It's great to hear stories like this - John Candy never disappoints in is performance and it's great to see he didn't disappoint here - Sounds like he agreed to the picture without seeing if they were really hot or not too.

This movie was hands down my favorite movie John starred in. I wish he was still around today, I miss seeing him headline films. Rest in peace John!

He was one of the very few comedic actors that was ALWAYS funny. I loved Richard Pryor but his movie roles always seemed dissapointing. John Candy could make a simple slap stick comedy movie worth watching, he was golden.
