British terrestrial TV screening

This film was shown on ITV back in 1989, on a very late Friday night. I think it was just before Christmas. My brother taped it, and I watched the first 15 or so minutes and I was spooked by the scene where the hero recalls what the aliens look like (he has a flashback of a woman with yellow eyes). I didn't watch the rest of the film, but my brother taped it, because he thought it would be like The Terminator.
