Irony

Isn't this a Don Bluth film? Well, does anyone else think it's odd that while this film is anti-imperialist and talks about the Cossacks and persecution of Jews, he also directed Anastasia? I mean, what the heck?

True.

True but there are other things that need to be taken into consideration such as this was not a complete Don Bluth solo project. Bluth didn't even come up with the original concept for it, David Keishner did and he went to Bluth with the idea and the two worked together to create the story. Also there's a third element, that of course being Steven Speilburg who also had a lot of input in the movie, particularly when it came to Fievel, his back story and his even his name. A lot of that came from Steven Spielburg, not from Don Bluth who was hesitant when it came to putting it into the movie. Anastasia on the other hand was him completely on his own, I think David Keishner may have been involved, but Spielburg def. wasn't.
