The xenomorphs are too dumb in this movie

The serious flaw in this movie is how dumbed down the xenomorphs are when compared to the single one is in the original. They are far too easily killed, and because of that if the Colonial Marines were skilled in strategy they could’ve easily lured these dumb animals into a trap, but I guess the Marines were even dumber.

reply

The aliens made quick work of both colonists and marines. Not too dumb.

reply

They were all dumb, both Marines and xenomorphs, so they cancelled each other out, but the colonists were just civilian families who probably had very little weapons.

reply

You mean like the gun Will Smith got in Men In Black? It was VERY little!

reply

The marines were dumb. They were stereotypes. Loud and obnoxious.

That was a major flaw of the movie for me.

Seems there's different Xenos. In this movie we have a Queen and a bazillion drone xenos who's purpose just seems to kill and breed out of control. The Xeno from the first movie was more a thinking warrior, cunning and displaying intellect and delight in tormenting its prey.

reply

i also think the actual breed of the OG was a different type of Alien rank like a hunter or something elite.

the ones from ALIENS look more armored like they're the grunts of the Hive.
idk

Valid

I liked the action scenes with the Xenos in this so I don't really care. You probably hate some of the Aliens Arcade games where you just use a gun to just shoot up the Xenos.

reply

In Alien they were on a spaceship, so they couldn't wound or kill the alien even if they had weapons (which they didn't). Maybe aliens also behave differently in a herd.

The marines were outnumbered and didn't have a clue how smart these aliens were. It was clearly a siege situation in Aliens (especially in the longer director's cut).

reply

I always watch the director's cut whenever I do watch "Aliens," but that added scene with the automated machine guns while entertaining reinforces what dumb animals the xenomorphs are. Dozens of them just walked into that trap one after the other. If not for the Marines at first being overly arrogant and then panicking for the rest of the time it seems they could have contained it.

They had weapons

As was said in MIB, "A person is smart. People are stupid." Applies to the xenomorphs, too

reply

Probably a Warrior in Alien and plain Drones in Aliens.
