Who sang the song in the movie. It went something like "I wonder how life will be without you in it."

The only song that I know of that was in that movie is called "Your Song" and it's sung by Elton John. The line in song you're probably thinking of is "How wonderful life is while you're in the world". Let me know if that's it. :)
