Where was Chris?

In the book, it said that Chris actually got an extra's role in the movie (he did NOT play himself, he would have been too old by then). I have the movie and I've paused through it many times and still haven't been able to spot the real Chris Deford. Do any of you know at what point in the movie he is seen?
