It's airing

I'm thrilled that you got to see this film, vonziggy! Isn't it wonderful?? I have owned the DVD for several years, but still watched it on TCM last night and was just as delighted as I was the first time I saw the movie. Of course, that precipitated my reading ALL of Ms. Hanff's books, naturally. My deepest regret is that I did not discover her work until after her death. How awesome it would have been to have actually been able to write to her, know she read my letters....and perhaps, even have heard from her. Her best friend was actress Maxine Stuart (played in the film by Jean de Baer), who passed away in June of last year. I'm sure their reunion in the Beyond was very joyful. Anyway, congratulations again, for allowing yourself the pleasure of viewing this movie; I'm so glad you weren't sorry!
