Question

I saw a small portion of this film some time ago. One thing I am wondering is what exaclty is Andy Garcia's character in this. As in what is his profession, and his significance to what jeff bridge's character is doing.

thanks

Andy Garcia is essentially the bad guy in this, I believe he is a cocaine dealer. And he plays a VERY good villain; he is so smooth and real in this film that though 8MWTD is forgotten he is still one of my favorite bad guys EVER. Hope that answers it enough. Bridges is also after him because he is worried for what might happen to Rosanna Arquette's character who is sort of pulled between the two men.

Great movie that takes much more flack than it deserves.

Drug dealer obviously. He offed the first hooker who Bridges felt sorry for, so he decided to try to solve the murder himself when he wasn't going to get help from his old cop buddy.

All of you are wrong technically he is a step above a dealer. 1st there is the street corner seller basically the expendables, then comes the dealer who supplies those sellers and the ones who supply dealers are the traffickers who are supplied by the cartels. My brother is a German Drug enforcement agent who works with the EU, Asia and the US. So Angel is a Trafficker he's the one in charge of the mules bringing in the drugs thru customs etc.
