Great film with great performances. Andy Garcia turns in one of the best bad guy performances ever.

I like the movie too even though it was very sleazy, I really loved the music in it by James Newton Howard also.

To Live and Die in LA and 52 pickup are the two best sleazy 80s noir. You can also include Thief

The warehouse scene towards the end is the most tense moment I've ever seen in a movie. Every person in the warehouse had reached the point of no return.

And what a year for it! It's the same year Dennis Hopper cut such an extraordinary portrait of sleaze-personified in "Blue Velvet". On another note, Garcia was runner-up in the New York Film Critic's Circle award for best-supporting actor.

The same year saw Ray Liotta's debut in Something Wild, very under-rated film. Garcia, Hopper, Liotta -- great line up of bad guys. Throw in Michael Caine from Hannah and Her Sisters and Daniel Day-Lewis in My Beautiful Laundrette and Forest Whitaker in Color of Money and you've got quite a year.

I found this very entertaining, with strong performances, a great score and amazing camera work. Hal Ashby, Jeff Bridges and Rosanna Arquette have certainly made better films, but this is worth seeking out. It's a solid 7/10 from me.

Exactly. Hopefully one day we can see a longer cut but that seems unlikely...

I agree also. I thought it was one of Jeff Bridges' best performances. It's dark and intense and it really draws me in.

Garcia was pretty awesome. He pulled it off without going over the top which would've been very easy to cross that line.
