Had to be the most drawn out over the top shouting match ever! Even had the relatives in the upstairs bedroom bangnin the floorboards in the end! lol

shareWhat brought the scene to the level of comic brilliance was at the very end when the police appear out of nowhere and repel down from the rafters.
Can someone remind me why the cops were there? There was no possibility of a conviction of anyone, they gave up the possibility of a huge drug seizure in favour of burning the 160 kilos. They just decided to get into a gun fight for the sake of their alcholic former partner and his drug dealer buddy?
Also, their whole "plan" seemd to revolve around the assumption that 80's drug dealers can't look up.
That scene gave me a "Scarface" flashback.
shareI thought it pulled off the tension, distrust, and ulterior motives of each person really well. There was no way that deal was going down and you feel it the first second they're inside.

Agreed. In fact I found the scene quite authentic in its own way. When cops and criminals confront each other I won't expect much sanity to prevail in there anyway. The scene captures the tension and chaos prevailing all throughout the film quite well!
shareAs it says under the trivia section, much of the dialogue was improvised, I think that made it feel more authentic, even though Oliver Stone wasn't pleased with the final results, I liked it, though it could have been better.
