L'heure Bleue...

Is one of the most beautiful scenes I have ever seen in cinéma. It's so passionate and awe-striking, despite, or maybe because of, the apparent simplicity.

I agree, it's one of those moments where Rohmer's knack for uncovering the poetry in everyday life really hits an overwhelming note. It's beautifully rendered (Le rayon vert style) and one of the best moments in his career.

Anybody else out there who absolutely loved this first segment and flat out disliked the three that followed? The city 'adventures' seemed strictly anecdotal in nature, whereas this one was expressive, vivid, evocative, alive...

This is one of my very favorite films, and I like all the segments, but the first one is best.

I agree, and I agree with the above posts about it being the best one. I liked the others, but they are quite different. The latter three segments are more like little moral tales, whereas the first is very much The Green Ray.

Is this your homework, Larry?
