Locations Used?

I saw this film when I was 18 and now 20 years later think it's not only as fresh, but the director's cut has given the characters so much more depth.
Can anyone help me in identifying the locations used in the film? It says on the DVD cover that Zorg works as a handyman at the French Riviera, but it doesn't look like anything around Nice!!?? Also, any ideas about Eddy's home town?

Just look on the IMDB title page, left side, filming locations! :

Gruissan, Aude, France

Marseille, Bouches-du-Rhône, France

Marvejols, Lozère, France

I think they are:

The beach - Gruissan (south west of Marseille, towards the Spanish border)

The city - Marseille

The country town - Marvejols (north west of Marseille)

I also was fascinated by this. I had no idea that there was this kind of wide open, semi-arid, almost high desert type country in France. Of course I have only been to Northern France--for one afternoon But I'm not surprised that it was near Spain since The Good, the Bad and the Ugly was shot in Spain and it was supposed to be arid regions of Texas.

The Beach House scenes are shot at Gruissan, near Narbonne, France.

I found this on flickr a while back:

It looks amazing.

The first location is near Narbonne, in the Aude. Then Paris (not Marseille, as Eddie says Marvejols - which is in the Lozere - is 500 miles away). Marvejols is the location for the rest of the film.

the first location was Gruissan plage as opposed to Gruissan
