Yes, that was probably the only other film in the history of cinema to use that scenario. Duh.

reply

Can you name others? I can't think of any, but I haven't seen every film ever made.

Neither have I, but I'm completely certain there are many others. But I'm damned if I'm going to start ferreting around just because you don't feel like it. What makes you think there's anything that hasn't been done before, anyway? Does it matter that there are many films which share a common ending? It's about the journey, not the destination.

Right.
In fact it's kind of respect in indie movies. Because a competent devotee knows the source, so what choose to think others who cares?
Ken Kesey's novel was such a blow in those times that impossible to say Philippe Djian shamefully stole the famous ending.

Think of 'O Brother, Where Art Thou?' by Coen's being a copy of Jim Jarmusch's 'Down by Law'.

I just didnt like the ending bc i thought he was going to kill himself too bc he wanted to be with her. Im not saying he should kill himself but he definitely shouldn't take anothers life either. Im just not sure how he could live with himself afterwards. I do love the movie tho. I keep watching it. They did havr great chemistry and are both beautiful. Not sure why but their acting just did something to me

More than a whiff! It was virtually the same sort of set-up with a catatonic patient.🐭

reply

Yes, and "One Flew" is way too iconic a movie to just think you can throw the same ending on your indie film and not raise any eyebrows.
