Anybody else felt sorry for and preferred Debbie?

I am watching this on youtube. I remember watching this show back in the day.

I think even back then I felt bad for Debbie and also thought she was the nicer girl.

It's good they didn't make her out to be a villain so it would be easy to get over her but I wasn't impressed with SJP's character as her replacement and never felt the chemistry between her and Sam. Sam's a bit played wooden anyway.
