is there no where you can watch Siskel and Ebert reviews?

and Ebert and Roeper reviewS?

reply

Well, there's Youtube.

My ignore list is quite large.

reply

only very few reviews are on there

Go to the website that ted9406 mentioned, while Youtube does have some Siskel and Ebert episodes, and Ebert and Roeper reviews, they are not all their missing. But sadly I am not aware of any site that you can watch all or pretty much all of the old Ebert and Roeper reviews. But do check out that Siskel and Ebert website, and give yourself a very good kick by not being aware of the website in the first place, as if I am remembering it has been around for at least around 2010-2011 or so.

It is a shame that some really good ones are missing. Ones I hope turn up one day are their reviews for..
Star Wars (1977)
Star Wars|Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
Raiders Of The Lost Ark (1981)
Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom (1984)

Go to youtube. There are many clips and full shows on there. And not just from the Disney version, but when they did At the Movies and Sneak Previews.

reply

You can always try that but not sure how many they have, but I know that at the Siskel & Ebert side I have plenty of the old shows on the website, and I bet even if it is not there if you are looking for a show that you can request it, and see if anybody has it and see if theyh can upload it.

Chaz Ebert seems to be really into keeping Roger's legacy alive, yet no public release of the old Siskel and Ebert shows like on the old Beuna Vista site.

Clearly all those episode still exist somewhere, so why we can't get them, I'll never know.

reply

Have you seriously never heard of the Siskel & Ebert site?

reply

Of course, but it's a private site by private owners.

It's a collection of people who taped the episodes when they originally aired and kept the tapes. And there are LOTS of episodes that are missing.

Roger is said to have kept all the tapes of every show, yet there's no sign of them.

reply

Yeah but you have to admit it is better then not having them at all . I don't even know how many episodes Siskel and Ebert did for Disney before Gene Siskel's passing. And even the ones that they both were in the balcony. And not counting episodes that Gene Siskel did from his hospital bed that he phoned in his movie reviews which was what turned out to be the last year of his life. Roger Ebert might have kept tapes off the show but how do you know people are telling the truth, he could have taped over a lot of them. But whatever he does have tape wise I doubt will ever see the light of day.

reply

Beuna Vista had them all up on their website so it doesn't matter if Roger has the tapes or not. I'm sure that it all comes down to financials. No one wants to pay to host them.

And with Roger's tapes, I'd hope that would include the pre Disney ones too!

And I don't think he would have just taped over them. I'm sure they were like production tapes that he had stored in a locker someplace. Not just in his home entertainment centre lol.

reply

Well I wouldn't say they all there, I don't recall seeing the reviews of Home Alone II or Aladdin at all, and maybe even the Muppet CHristmas Carol as well. And the show did get canceled so you had to figure sooner or later they had to take them done. Whether they are or not they would be pretty old shows, and tapes played as much they don't last forever. It is hard to say what has happened to his copies of the tapes, but I still doubt that they will ever see the light of day.

reply

I just think with all the film festivals and events and the website with every written review he ever did, I just don't think it's too much to ask to post the tapes of the show that made him famous and beloved!

reply

I totally agree with you. Also, the fact that there were ALREADY once there on an official site makes it seem all the more perplexing. I think I mentioned this in a different thread, but I'm sure they could make at least some money through advertising...as opposed to now, when the reviews are laying dormant and unpublished.

When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading!

reply

He already has a website that carries new reviews and probably has an established base of readers.

reply

Yeah but the op is or asking about a site on both Siskel and Ebert's reviews and Ebert & Roepers as well

reply

I wonder if she'd be interested in setting up a site like that again? Wouldn't hurt to ask her.
